Voice for the voiceless

Bezuban Ki Zuban is an animal welfare organisation working to create a safer, kinder world for animals. From medical care to safe habitats, awareness and community action, we are working to protect our vulnerable animals and build a more compassionate society.

Our story

One of the earliest incidents involved a stray dog who had been badly injured after being hit with a stone. We arranged for the dog to receive the treatment it needed.

Soon after, we came across a mother dog whose puppies were being taken away in a box. We stepped in and stopped it.

Moments like these slowly changed the way we saw our responsibility towards animals. We realized that helping could not always be about responding to one emergency and moving on. There were countless animals living around us who needed someone to notice them, protect them and stand up for them.

From One Meal To A Bigger Purpose

Our journey with feeding began with a mother dog and her puppies.

We prepared a simple homemade meal for them, with milk, jaggery and other nourishing ingredients. It was a small gesture, but it showed us how much something as basic as a nutritious meal could mean to an animal living on the streets.

Over time, feeding became another way of caring for community animals. We began preparing fresh meals such as porridge and chicken whenever we could and feeding groups of street dogs in our community.

Because Someone Has To

Bezuban Ki Zuban did not begin as an organization. It began with a simple belief: if an animal needs help and we can help, we should.

Around six to eight years ago, we started helping stray and community animals whenever we came across them. There was no bigger plan at the time, just one animal, one situation, one act of kindness at a time.

But somewhere along the way, we realised that this was about more than food.  It was about reminding ourselves, and the people around us, that animals living on our streets are not invisible.

When Someone Calls, We Step Forward.  Whenever possible, we stepped forward.

An injured dog. An abandoned animal. A dog involved in an accident. A life in distress with nowhere else to turn.

We began arranging veterinary care, emergency treatment, surgeries, foster care and adoptions. Some animals found loving homes. Some returned to the streets after recovery. And some, despite every effort, did not make it.

Every experience taught us something. Every animal left a mark.

And slowly, what had started as individual acts of kindness became something much bigger, a commitment to stand up for animals who cannot speak for themselves.

This Is Why We Exist

We know we cannot save every animal. We know we cannot answer every call. But we also know that when a life is hurting, someone has to care. Someone has to step forward. Someone has to speak.

That is the belief behind Bezuban Ki Zuban.

We want to create a world where community animals are treated with compassion, where people know how to help when an animal is in distress, and where no animal is left helpless simply because it has no voice of its own.

Because they may be Voiceless. But they deserve to be Heard. And we choose to be their Voice..

01 — VACCINATION

Prevention Before Crisis

A vaccinated dog is better protected from preventable disease, and rabies vaccination also plays an important role in protecting the wider community.

We want essential vaccinations to become more accessible to community dogs, so that street animals receive the same basic preventive care that responsible pet parents provide for their own companions.

Our current mission: to work towards vaccinating 10,000 community dogs. Because animal welfare is not only about saving animals when they are hurt. It is also about preventing suffering before it begins.

03 — EMERGENCY RESCUE

When An Emergency Happens, Help Should Be A Call Away

One of the biggest gaps we have experienced firsthand is access to emergency veterinary assistance, particularly at night.

We have encountered injured animals when transportation was unavailable, veterinary care was difficult to access and every minute mattered.

That is why one of our long-term missions is to establish a 24/7 animal rescue ambulance.

The ambulance would help with emergency rescue, safe transportation and getting injured or distressed animals to veterinary care, especially when they cannot safely be moved without assistance.

Because an injured animal should not have to wait until morning to have a chance. If someone finds an animal in distress, there should be someone to call.

02 — FEEDING STATIONS

Food Should Never Be A Luxury

For a community dog, a reliable source of nutritious food can make a meaningful difference.

Our feeding efforts began with homemade meals prepared for a mother dog and her puppies. Today, we want to take that idea further by creating more organised and sustainable feeding support for community animals.

We are working towards establishing community feeding stations where dogs can access fresh food in a safer, more consistent and dignified way.

The goal is not simply to feed more dogs. It is to create a culture where community animals are not forgotten.

Our Mission

Building A Safer, More Accessible Future For Community Animals

For years, we have helped animals one case at a time, responding when someone called, arranging treatment when a dog was injured, feeding when we could, and stepping in whenever an animal needed someone to care.

But we believe individual acts of kindness can become something much bigger.

Our mission is to build a stronger support system for stray and community animals, one that makes prevention, food, emergency care and compassionate intervention more accessible.

Because helping an animal should not depend on luck, the time of day, or whether someone happens to know whom to call.

BEYOND RESCUE. TOWARDS A SYSTEM.

Our mission is bigger than rescuing one more dog. It is about creating a support system around the animals who share our streets and the people who want to help them.

We want to bring together rescue, emergency care, vaccination, feeding, fostering and adoption support — while making it easier for ordinary people to become part of the solution. Because we have seen what happens when someone wants to help but does not know where to begin.

A dog is injured at 3 AM. Someone wants to help, but there is no ambulance. Or, a community dog needs treatment, but the cost feels impossible.
An animal needs food, but there is no consistent source nearby.

These should not be dead ends.

Our vision is to build a network where compassion can turn into action. Where an injured animal has a better chance of reaching a veterinarian, where community dogs have access to preventive healthcare and regular nourishment, where people who witness an animal in distress know where to turn, and, where helping does not stop at the moment an animal is rescued, because every animal deserves continued care, safety and dignity.

WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SAVE EVERY LIFE. But we can build a world where more lives get a chance. That is our mission!

Our Heartfelt Initiatives

Turning Compassion Into Action

Our mission comes to life through action. From feeding and vaccination drives to safer streets and greater awareness, every initiative is a step towards creating a kinder, safer environment for the animals who share our communities.

Vaccination Drives

We work towards making essential vaccinations, including anti-rabies vaccination, more accessible to community dogs — protecting them from preventable diseases while contributing to a safer community for everyone.

Prevention is protection.

REFLECTIVE COLLARS

Reflective collars help make community dogs more visible to motorists, especially after dark. Through this initiative, we aim to reduce the risk of road accidents and make our streets safer for animals.

A little visibility can save a life.

Change begins with compassion and understanding.

AWARENESS & ADOPTION

Through awareness initiatives, adoption drives and community engagement, we encourage people to see stray and community animals with empathy, and to become part of creating better lives for them.

Be Part Of The Change

Every initiative needs people who are willing to show up. Whether you volunteer your time, help us spread awareness or contribute towards our work, you can help us reach the next animal who needs us.

Before Bezuban Ki Zuban became an organization, this work began with individual acts of kindness, helping an injured dog, feeding a hungry one, arranging medical care, finding foster support or simply stepping in when an animal had nowhere else to turn.

The numbers below represent what we have been able to achieve through those individual efforts so far. They may be modest today. But every number represents a real life, a real story and a beginning.

Dogs Rescued

We started Bezuban Ki Zuban because we wanted to take what began as individual acts of kindness and turn it into something much bigger. A platform that can reach more animals, a support system that can respond to more emergencies, and, a community that knows how to help when an animal is in need. Our goal is not simply to look back at what we have done. It is to build what comes next. And we want you to be part of that journey. Help us reach more lives. Volunteer your time. Support our work. Help us spread the word. Or make a contribution towards the animals who need us. Together, we can turn individual acts of kindness into a movement.
